WATERSIDERS' WAGES.
(Per Press Association.) Wellington, November 18. The conference of employers of waterside labour and representatives of the Waterside Workers' Federation discussed the question of an increase in the rates of ivages to meet the increased cost of living since the present ■agreement came into force. As the demands are based on the cost of living as disclosed by the Government Statistician, AA'hose figures are to be challenged by both workers and employers, the conference failed to come to any conclusion .It is noAv .discussing methods of carrying out Avork on the Avnterfront with a view to increased efficiency. The sbipoAvners have received a request for increased Avages from the Federated Cooks and SteAvards and Seamen's Federation.
