Sydney, October 28. In the first, stage of the King's Prize, Morgan, Croxton, and G ovenlock scored 96, and won £3 each. In the first stage of the King's Prize shooting match .Masefleld got every shot home at 500 yards and led at 600 with 33 out of 35, but could not hold the bull. Searle, the winner, put on two 34's at 500 and 600 yards, and added another at the next range, bringing his total t 0102 out of 105. Roots scored 99 and won £5, Masefield 98 and'won £4. In conjunction with the first stage of the King's Prize, a 12 aside match was fired, in which the New Zealand team beat Sydney by 1122 to 1121. The rifle meeting was continued under somewhat trying conditions. The weather was hot, with a shifting fishtail wind and a deceiving haze. In the teams' match, New Zealand boat the Randwick Literary Institute, the previous winners of the Sargood Gold Cup, by 1295 to 1250. The second stage of tho King's Prize, 600 and 700 yards, was won by Kendall, of New South Wales.
