NARROW ESCAPE.

ACCIDENT AT APITI. An alarming accident occurred at Mr. Osborne's residence, Apiti, this morning. His daughter was lighting the fire and an explosion occurred, a., number of pellets of shot lodging in. her face and one shot also striking a little girl who was near but not doing any injury. Mr. Osborne brought his daughter down to Feilding for medical assistance. A careful examination revealed the fact that she had fortunately escaped sovere injtiry. It is conjeeturodthat tt shot cartridge got mixed with the rubbish j>laced in the fireplace and caused the explosion.
