South, was played : a.t kimuolton on Wednesday last and ' after a real good game South were ! victorious by 6 to 3. M. Seeker and M. Nesdale stored tries for the South while D. McNae kicked a penalty goal for North. M. Hesseltine., of Kimbolton, controlled the game. At the conclusion of the game the selectors., Messrs A. Stackhouse, N. Shannon. D. Cooper, and N. S. McLeod, selected the following team to represent Oroua Sub-Union against Mannwatu B at Feilding on Saturday next: — Full-back, \V\ Duncan (Ap'it); threequarters, F. Nesdale, M. Seccker, and W. Goodin (Kimbolton); fiveeighths D.McNae (Apiti), Roy Shannon, captain, (Waituna); half, D. Marshall (Waituna); wing forward L. Eggers (Waituna); forwards, J. Deroles, D. Thompson, and C. Hancock (Rangiwahia), N.- Short (Waituna), J. Cant-well, R. Brough and AY. Allen Apiti). -Emergencies, back, J. Boddy (Apiti); forward, W. Guylee (Waituna.) Cup matches under this union were advanced another stage on Saturday, when Apiti visited Rangiwahia. Apiti won the toss and kicked off wid'i the Rangiwahia facing the sun. The play was very even for the first 'half-hour, the greens (Apiti) then gained the advantage;, a,nd from a loose forward rush N. Gould picked up the leather and touched down. From a scrum near the line R. Boddy secured and scored wide out. No goal resulted. Immediately afterwards the Whites were penalised nea.r the goal, and this j time D. McNae made no mistake with . the kick. The Whites then began to j rally to their opponents' goal, and | the Greens being penalised, W. Gibbons kicked a nice goal. o—3. inspired by their success the Whites again rushed down to their line and C. Hancock dived over, no goal resulting. 9 —G. J. Cantwell headed a forward rush with J. Boddy in attendance. On the former over-running the ball, J. Bodd- dribbled the length of the field and scored a prrea.t try. McNae kicked a poster, making the score ( Apiti 12, Itangiwahia (5. Mr Hinddey a-lily controlled the <r;unc\ Ivimholton visited Waituna and suffered defeat, the home team winning by 4 points to - nil.
