It transpires that Essad Pasha (avlio was a pre-Avar aspirant to the throne jf Albania) received a Avarning a week ago that his life was conspired against, but be did not take any precautionary measures. Rustem apparently carried out the decision of a secret society. He said: "I acted on behalf of the Albanian cause." (This tragedy is reported on page 1.) Constantinople, June 14., Four Conspirators Ai-ere court-mar-tialled for plotting against the life of the Grand Vizier of__ Turkey. They ivere hanged in a public square, and* spent their last few moments in denouncing the Turkish Government, proclaiming their devotion to, the Committee of Union and Progress. Their bodies remained hanging until the British authorities ordered their removal. The Grand Vizier has sailed for Paris. ADD UNDER LIMELIGHT
("Received June 15, noon.) Constantinople, June 14. The Grand Vizier left for Paris to present Turkey's reply to the Peace Treaty and to endeavour to obtain an oral 'hearing as regards tile terms. It is understood that Turkey's reply protests against the clauses dealing with Thrace and Smyrna and the attack on Turkey's suzerainty by the internationalisation of the Bospnorus and_ Dardanelles, and the clauses granting "the rights of self-govern-ment to States Avhich were Turkey's before the Avar.
