...... London, June 11. At lawn, tenuis at Beckenham, in the semi-finals,'' Shimidzu beat ■F. Lowe 6—o, 6—2, and Kingscote beat A. Lowe 6—3, 2—6, 6—l. Kingscote defeated Fisher 6—3, 4—6, 6—2. In the . semi-finals, Rooper Barrett and Lycett beat Shimidzu and -R. White 6—l, 6—l-. London, 'June 12. In the tennis final, Kingscote beat Shimidzu 7—5, 3—2, and Shimidzu retired. A. thunderstorm delayed the 'match and interfered with play during the first set. In the ladies' final Miss Ryan is leading from Mrs McNair. 4—3. It has been decided to finish the match at the Eastbourne tournament. .(Received June .14, 9.35 a.m.) Loudon June 13. Shimidzu's .retirement from the final of the Kent tennis championship was due to a sportsmanlike desire that Kingscote should win the trophy outright, which followed a third year's victory. THE DAVIS CTJP. Holland and South Africa, in the first round of the Davis Cup, played at Arhheim, each winning a game. Holland won the doubles. •
