GERMAN ELECTIONS.

DETAILS OF THE VOTING. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Aust.-N.Z. Cable Association.) • Berlin, June 7. In the German elections 16,202,000 vote, shave so far , been recorded, which are distributed as follows: Independent Socialists 3,647,000. Social Democrats 330'2i},000, People's Party 2,172,000, Centre Party 1,803,000. Out of 160 members elected 48 are Independents, 44 Social Democrats, 29 Nationalists, 20 Centralists, 14 Democrats—including Eichorn, Ledebour, Bauer, Scheidemann, Helfferich and Erzberger (leader of the Catholic Party). Women voted in the samu proportion as men. The last election was held in January, 1919, and resulted on the basis of proportional representation in tho return of the following parties: Majority Socialists 163, Ceiftre (Catholic) Party 88, Democrats 75, Conserva tivee 42, Independent Spcialiets 22. German People's Party 21, Bavarian Peasants' League 4, and minor parties 6; total, 421. The actual votes cast for the larger. parties were: Majority Socialists 11,112,450 (39.3 per cent, of the total), Centre 5,338,804 (18.8 pc: cent.), Conservatives 2,729,186 (9.0 per cent), Independent Socialist? 2,186,305 (7.§ per cent.), and Gei man People's Party 1,106,408 (3.8 per cent.). (Received June 9, 9 a.m.) Berlin, June 8- : Prospects of the maintenance' of a coalition are small\ unless a reconciliation is effected between the wings of the Socialists, which Vorwaerts recommends. » • The Lokal Anzeiger says the only success achieved by the Bauer Government in the elections lies in the fact that order was nbt disturbed, ex- ! c<?pt in one municipality in Ponierania, where the Independents burned the ballot papers. ;
