FIRST EXPRESS GETS THROUGH ON TIME.

Auckland, Feb. 20.

The first express from Wellington arrived this morning on time, though Hood water hail inundated an extensive area near Hunterville, and at one place the earth about the sleepers svas being svashed assay. The workmen affected temporary repairs, and the heavy train-crept safely through the inundations.
