Mrs Henry Aitken. of Oamaru. who lias been on a visit to her son. Mr Robert Aitken, Stafford street, returned South last week. The death is announced from Nelson of Mr William Franklyn, for many years a member of various local bodies, aged 82 years. Brigadier-General A E. Stewart, D.8.0., who commanded the New Zealand llille Brigade in France after the death of Brigadier-General Fulton, is returning by the Prinzcssin, which is due to arrive here on June 25. Tho first lady to receive full membership of the Auckland Returned Soldiers' Association, entered on the books Inst week, is Mrs Gladys Henning, who possesses an ordinary certificate of discharge showing that she qualified for membership by two years' service abroad with the New Zealand motor transport, with the rank of driver. She can wear the R.S.A. Jbadge. The Nelson Diocesan Gazette for Jiuie states: "The Bishop has received a cablegram from the Rev. C J. H. Dobson, C.F.. who left New Zealand with the Main Body in 1914, announcing his marriage in Athens on May 12 to Mile. Helene Paolos Georgoulopoulos. The bride, who has lived in England for some years, belongs to a very well known family of Greek patriots. At a little gathering of New Zealanders in London a few months ago the Bishop offered Mile. Georgoulopoulos his congratulations, and assured her of a. very hearty welcome to New Zealand
