THE SWISS

URGE RETALIATION ON 13(),(XX) GERMAN REFUGEES. Geneva. The Swiss newspapers are unanimous in demanding reprisals against Germany for torpedoing the Spanish steamer Sardinero while flying the Swiss flag and carrying 3R55 tons of cereals for the Swiss people. It is pointed out that retaliatory measures could easily bo adopted in view of the fact thnt there are'lit tho present moment 130,000 Germans in Switzerland who arc daily cousuminy: iniinv tons of bread. The rations of these Germans are now fixed at nine oiuiros a day., and it is forcefnllv urged that this allowance should be cut down by half until the saving thus effected counterbalances the loss of cereals caused '<v Herman piracy in the sinkiW of Hie Sardinero. It is also urged that th" foodstuffs known to have been hoarded by German profiteers for nsc after thu war should at once be confiscated.
