("PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.!
Melbourne, July 23. The Lieut.-Governor, in opening the State' Recruiting Conference, passionately appealed for action. He warned the Conference that German gold was unrestricted in Europe. Herein lay an element which -may at any time break out into a worse evil than anything contemplated.
A sensation has been caused in the j tobacco world by the discovery that New Zealand grown leaf contains less Nicotine than any foreign tobacco, I and that it is considered one of the mildest and most perfect tobaccos in existence. Nicotine is a deadly poison affecting the heart, and as a rule the higher the proportion of Nicotine ' in a tobacco the poorer its quality. ■ Strong tobaccos with much Nicotine are sure to undermine even the most robust constitution. New Zealand grown tobacco has no such deleterious . properties. The smoker can easily con-' vince himself by trying the new Aromatic blend of Gold Pouch Mixture wliich is greatly superior to the earlier product, particularly in aroma. No matter how much he smokes of this de- . licious tobacco, it leaves the mouth sweet and clean, never bites the tongue and burns freely to the last whiff. But. Gold Pouch tobacco isnot only better than the foreign article, it is cheaper too, 2sozs for I.s. Cigarette smokers should use the New Zealand grown "Three Diamonds" tobacco, a new type manufactured from thorourrhlv matured leaf of n rich brown colon rwhich leaves no shar" and bitter after-taste like the imported yellow tobacocs. There's only one thing Jack Frose is afraid of, namely, the "Unique" stopper Hot Water Bottle made by the North British Rubber Co. It keeps water hot the longest and can't leak, or crack. Obtainable everywhere. ADENOIDS AND CATARRH. Warm "Fluenzol" dropped into the nostrils of a child while on its back gives rapid relief and disperses tho harmful microbes.
