LIMIT ON WAR PROFITS.
New York, July 11. In his statement regarding- the Government's intention to prevent profiteering. President Wilson said: "1 shall expect every man not a slacker to be at my side in this great enterprise. No man can win honour who thinks only of himself. Prices must bo just, and sufficient to pay good wages and provide for the reasonable expansion of businesses. Patriotism and profits should not bo mentioned together. Tn fheso days of supreme trial, when we are sending hundreds of thousands of our young men across the seas, no man should wittingly take toll of their heroism."
Mr Wilson issues' a. veiled threat that shipowners will be induced to reduce their freights, which are helping tho enemy
