EARTHQUAKE AT SAMOA
[rEU I'ItESS ASSOCIATION.] Suva, July 10. An earthquake and tidal wave has occurred in tho Samoa group. It is the severest on record the group Jias experienced. Tho earthquake was severely felt at Haupai. Three tidal waves fourteen feet high visited the island, but no material damage was occasioned. Keupel Island was the worst sufferer. Many native houses were destroyed and a concrete wharf carried away. There were no fatalities. The shock was not felt at Niuafoo.
