THE U-BOAT HOAX.

Baele. A neat April Fool hoax adorned the front page of the Schweizer lilustrierte Zcitung. It depicts a "submarine liner" with the Swiss Hag at tho fore and the tSurn and Stripes at the mizzcninast, anchored off Basle, and alleged to contain a rich cargo!

The inscription below it describes how this purely imaginary vessel passed through the blockaded zone without difficulty, and came to rest in Switzerland's section of the Rhine! Perhaps the best of this joke at the expense of the Huns it that it was only the previous week that the Swiss had news of the fat© of the Brrtkien and tho Dcutschland.
