A SOUND INVESTMENT.
The following letter from two directors of the Ii.N.Z., Messrs Martin Kennedy and Win. Watson, appeared in yesterday's Post:— On all grounds the success of the loan is to be desired—those, of patriotism find the proper treatment of our soldiers. It would appear that if the necessary money be not raised by the loan, it must be got by further heavy taxation, in which all classes must, either directly or indirectly, share; also the credit of the Dominion would sulf'er. which in many 'ways would affect the welfare of the people. Subscription to the loan does nob mean ii sacrifice or loss. The investment has never been equalled in Now Zealand as a. sate and remunerative one, and the return to normal conditions of the money market in a few years avouUl cause it to command a substantial premium. The interest will bo distributed in the Dominion, and will bo available for investment in and -development of the country. In about 16 years the interest compounded will amount to the original principal, leaying the investment intact. Firmly believing that full subscription of the loan Avill be no less beneficial to the individual inhabitants of New Zealand (with whose welfare that.of the institution in which we have the honour to represent the ordinary shareholders is bound up) than to the Dominion as part of the Empire, we strongly urge all who have the means idle, or within view, to apply for ns much of the loan as they can afford. [PER PKES3 ASSOCIATION.! Wanganui, Aug. IT. The Wanganui Patriotic Qunmittoc has decided to invest'.£lo,oo(7 in the war loan.
