EDUCATION' BOARD ELECTIONS.
Tho result of the election for the Taranaki and- Auckland Education Boards, is of some interest to this district, members on both Boards being well known here. Mr E. Djxon, Mayor of Hawcra, a former resident of Bunnythorpc, and a member of the Wanganui Education Hoard for ten years, was elected for the South Ward in conjunction with Mr C. A. Wilkinson, M.P., the unsuccessful candidate bein< T 47 votes behind. Tho Rev. A. B. Chappell was second on the poll for the North Ward, the next candidate beimr 74 votes behind. In ,the Auckland election:*Mr W. Auld, formerly of Feilding, but now at Hamilton, topped tho poll with 312 votes. Mr E. C. Banks, a well-known farmer and member of the Council of Education, was elected in the East Ward, with 420 votes. The chairman of the old Board (Mr G. J. Garland) was second on the list for Auckland City, Mrs R. L. Baumo defeating three other candidates for the fourth member with a lead of four votes.
