SOME RESOLUTIONS
[per press association.] Wellington, August 3. At the annual conference of the Federation of Patriotic Relief Societies, the following remits from Wairafapa were referred to the advisory board: — "That a copy of the medical and other reports which were placed before the Pensions Board when they decided on men's pensions should be available to the secretary of the Patriatic Society in any special case into which, the society is inquiring. Such documents to be treated as strictly confidential."
"That as a further means to prevent the exploitation, of Avar relief funds all officers of societies be empowered to grant relief to returned soldiers and endorse on the soldier's paybook the name of the society granting relief and the date of the grant, and that no relief be granted without the production of discharge."
The conference affirmed tho principle of the Wellington remit that the Government pay insurance premiums up to £50 per annum on policies taken out by soldiers. _ The matter was referred to the advisory board.
