A SOLDIER IN A MURDER CASE. [per press association.] Christchurch, July 21. The soldier Michael Carey," charged with the murder of Frederick Allen in a street quarrel recently, was committed to the Suoremo Court for trial. Mr Cassidy, for accused, who is a member of the 16th Reinforcements, asked the Bench to reduce (lie charge to manslaughter, but this was refused.
