Mr Cecil Cowpcr, a descendant or the poet Cowper and editor of the Academy, lias died, aged 59.

Mr Berkley Tyerman, aged 62 years, died at Woodville yesterday morning, after a long illness. Deceased was a member of various local bodies and a prominent bowler.

Captain E. C. Dovcy, who has been Camp Adjutant at Trentham for the past eleven months,, will leave for the front in command of the 15th Reinforcements. Captain Dovcy, who received Imperial Army training in tho Scots Greys, came to New Zealand some time ago .in connection with the Territorial, training scheme, and was stationed at Palmerston.
