THE NEED FOR ORGANISATION
Levin. May MO. The Wellington Farmers' Union Conference opened to-day. Mr T. Moss (Eketahuna) presiding. In 'his address Mr Moss referred to the attempt to Jink up farm workers' unions, and stressed the need for the organisation <>f farmers. He also referred to the new movement to link up the Australian freezers with New Zealand freezers. Siieh movements only had one object—the men were, opposed to compulsory service and it seemed as if they were taking advantage of the absence of fanners' sons at the front. Farmers did not object lo commandeering and I he fixing of prices in war time, luil the danger was in applying the prineiph: in normal limes. The principle was one that could be applied to all the industries, and if applied to farming why not to others! -1
