HIGH COMMISSIONER'S CABLED REPORT.
Wellington, March 2. The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram from the High Commissioner in regard to the opening of the London wool sales: "Wool sales commenced Avith good competition for eoarso crossbreds and medium crossbreds, although the high price making buyers cautious and reluctant to bid freely. Prices slightly lower than at the close of last series. Better bidding anticipated during the next few days. For line crossbreds, all grades, and merinos the market is a shade weaker. Prices Id lower. New Zealand's catalogue was 33,000 bales. Note.—The estimated values given hy the High Commissioner in his cablegram on the last wool sales are as follow: Fine crossbreds, all grades, Is 8d to Is lid; medium crossbreds. all grades, I s 7d to Is 9Jd ; coarse crossbreds, all grades, Is 6d to Is B£d ; superior merinos Is 7d to Is lOd, medium merinos Is . r >d to Is 7d, inferior merinos Is 2d to Is 4d.
