' At Westlield fat stock market on Wednesday, beef was penned in usual numbers, and, with the exception of prime quality, showed no improvement in values. Prime oxen sold to £2 3s per 1001b, others £1 17s to £2 2s, cows and heifers £1 12s 6d to £1 17s 6d, steers sold at from £0 10s to £18, cows £5 5s to £12 12s Gd. A truck of eight steers from E. Allen, Cambridge, averaged £17 9s. Calves wore penned in usual numbers, and sold at improved values. Runners sold at from £5 15s to £8 7s Gd, heavy suckers £3 lis to £1 14s, medium £2 12s to £3 9s. light Cl "9s to £2 Bs, small and fresh-dropped 4s to £1 ss. Sheep were yarded in full numbers, and improved in prices Rest, wethers sold at from £1 8s Gd to L'l 10s 9d, others £1 0s Gd to Cl 7s Oil, best owes £1 Gs to £1 14s for second prizetakers at Pukekohe Show, which were bought by Mr Thos. Raster, of Ponsonbv ; other ewes 18s 9d to £1 5k 6d. hoggets £1 0s (kilo £1 3s <)d. Lambs, penned in average numbers, sold at late, rates. Best sold at from 18s (id to £1 3s. for first prize-takers at Pukekohe Show, fattened by MiGeorge Hodgson, bought by R* and W. Hcllaby; others. 13s to'lGs 9d. Pigs were penned in large numbers, and sold at improved prices.
