LAND FOR SOLDIERS.
BALLOTS JN WELLINGTON
Two .sections wore balotted lor at the District. Lands Ollice to-day. They were for returned soldiers. Two applications were received For the sections, which are situated in the, Tablelanrls Settlement, oast of Marlinborougli. The seeli<lll of 707 acres was drawn by W. IC. Amis; the other section, of 512-1. acres., adjoining, by R. Holmes. Tiic Hoard resolved to recommend the Minister to proclaim the applicants under tin: Discharged Soldiers' Act.
The disposal of a piece- of land in the RangiLolo Survey District, near Bulls, suitable for the seltlcnieufc of a discharged soldier, was considered by the Hoard. It consists of l<l3 acres, and is about three miles and a hali' from Bulls. The Board had resolved to oiler the section for .sale by cash at publk , auction, but this decision was to-day rescinded. The land is described as being worth .C 1.2 10s an acre, and according to the ranger there should be a good living in it for any man , properly working it as a dairy farm. 1(: was, however, part of land which was thought to be. only 300 acres, but. which was now found to be lv's acres.'
