ARMY COUNCIL APPROVES.
CREATION OF N.Z. ARMY DIVISION. Diinedin, February 25. The Minister of Defence, the Hon. James Allen, announces that the Secretary of State for the Colonies (Mr Bonar Law) advises that the Army Council highly appreciates tho action of the Now Zealand Government in creating n New Zealand army division with necessary reinforcements. Tlic Minister points out that the creation of sncli _a division will not involve a general increase of men. Although an increase will bo necessary for life in- I fan try. thorn will bo a decrease of other units, making the result regarding requirements practically similar to the present needs. It is understood that no official intimation has been received as to a New Zealand force having landed at Salonika.
