LEAVING THE BOARD.

Speaking at the Hiwinui school gathering yesterday, Mr G. 11. Bennett said that it was with a good deal of regret ho had decided not to seek re-election to the Wanganui Education Board at tho end of the current term. It would take too long to explain his reasons fully, but he could say it had nothing to do with the Board itself. His relations with the other members, and especially the chairman, had always been of the most cordial nature, and the monthly meetings were amongst tho most pleasant spots in his life. So far as Hiwinui was concerned, he had been a frequent visitor there from the inception of the school, and had always been, glad-to further dhe interests of education there. Notwithstanding his severance from the Board, he would not cease to take a strong interest in their future.
