RETURNED SOLDIERS.
WHAT THEY ARE RECEIVING
The provision now made for returned soldiers in New Zealand has been oxplained by tho Premier. A ticket entitling the botder_ to travel free on all Government railways, including free meals on the dining cars, is granifrd for a. period of tlhree weeks to a.ll returned soldiers while on furlough, and free tickets are givem to any sick main on leave, when the Medical Board considers ho is fit to travel. Upon arrival fn New Zealand tlie olothing and equipment of every soldir ig completed to two uniforms, with great-coat, hat, cap, aJid kiit-bag, boots, and underclothing. This equipment becomes tlio property of the .soldier is completed to two uniforms, ally recommended to preserve one uniform in good order for special occasions. On discharge, h^receives, in addition., one suit of plain clothes a>nd cap. or an equivalent of 30s.
