During the past week we held our yard sales at Bulls and Feilding and our annual weaner fair at Rongotea. At Bulls, we submitted a good yarding. Enquiry for sheep was good, rape lambs being keenly competed for and prices were in ißlvance of owners' anticipations. Tlje demand for cattle was fair. At our Rongotea weaner fair buyers were present in force from all parts of the district and the Main Trunk line. Competition was animated, and we sold the whole of omen try except 12 head under the hammer' at prices highly satisfactory to vendors and much in advance of last season's rates. At Feilding, a heavy yarding of both sheep and cattle came forward. In sheep the demand for all classes was keen, and we effected a total clearance, prices all round showing a sharp rise on last sale's rates. A large number of rape lambs came forward, and met animated competition. A feature of the sheep sale was the entry of Mr AVm. Mitchell's flock, which were sold in conjunction with the other firms. The breeding ewes were a good lot of wellwoolled roomy sheep, and being well classed realised high prices. The lambs were submitted early in the sale and compared with lines offered later in the sale must bo considered cheap at the prices made. The cattle sale at the start was dull and dragini'. but improved later, and we quitted the bulk of our entry at late rates.
