The War Oilice announces that General Wallace's force of British, Indian, and New Zealand troops advanced ' in, two columns against the Senussis on the 23rd inst.
Tho enemy attempted to surround the British, and an action commenced at, 10 o'clock, and the enemy was driven back at midday to their camp, retreating rapidly westward. Wo occupied the camp and burned 80 tents and stores.
Tho enemy numbered 3500, with three cannon and four machine guns.
Ten Britishers and New Zealauders and 18 Indians were killed and 274 wounded. The enemy killed numbered 150 and 500 wounded.
