FRIGHTFULNESS.
FATHER VAUGHAN'S VIEWS. (Received January 28. 9.10 a.m.) . London, January 27. Speaking at the Mansion House, Father Vaughau said that if Prussianised Germany would iplay the game according to the rules of international law, she might command the of Englishmen; but she had failed to play the game, and it ■ was the business of Britishers to keep on killing' the Germans. Referring to atrocities, ho said he was sometimes told that the newspapers exaggerated these things. His answer Avas that if the Germans had not done the tilings which were charged against them, they were failing to carry out the directions of their War Lords "to Icavo women and children nothing but their eyes to weep with."
