MAKINO ROAD CONCERT.

In spite of counter attractions ami tho fact that Queen candidate concerts and dances are of nightly ooeurrenco, tho Makino road function last eveniing was very successful, lhe programme Avas arranged by Miss Bellingham, who was fortunate in being able to secure some very capable musicians from Feilding. Tho visitors included Mrs Edlin, Miss Hubner, 'Miss Condon, and Messrs Lees, Nuttall x Hood, and Edlin, whose vocal and instrumental items evoked well merited applalieo. Specially attractive numbers'wore- a lullaby song by a rjuintette of daiaty little maids, and two dialogues by some of the older children. These Avere well staged and were rendered in such a Avay as to reflect credit, not only on the children taking part, but also on Miss Bellingham, avlio Avas responsible for their .training. Tho dance which followed was very enjoyable. For this Mr Yuuugor" made an efficient M.C., and the musio was provided by Mr Pilchor. Various competitions were held during the evening, and together with the proceeds fro uvtlio salo of SAveete, flowers, and fancy goods, assisted materially in swelling tho local Quoen candidate- fund.
