Lamb.—Canterbury 2's, BJd; heavy weights, BJd j other than Canterbury, B|d for lightweights; second grade, Bd. Beef.—New Zealand not quoted. Chilled, hindquarters, BJd; forequarters, 7Jd. , Butter.—The market is very firm for best quality. Danish is firm, but tho demand is limited at 170s to 1745; Siberian, in good demand, especially for finest, 130s to 1345; Australian supply, practically exhausted, and prices not quoted; Irish creamery firm, and fair demand at 150s to 1545; Argentine, none offering. Cheese.—Market- steadier. Canadian quiet, white and coloured, 74s to 765; ip&glish cheddar quiet, 94s to 965; New Zealand quiet, 745, 765, up to 78s; United States, a little more doing, 68s to r4s, according to. size. The stocks of Canadian cheese at London, Liverpool, and Bristol, on August 3 were : 332,000 boxes, against 163,000 boxes last year. The New Zealand and Australian cheese stocks at London and Bristol on August 3 were 8350 crates, against 10,500 la.st year. Hemp.—Tlie market is steady, with an improved demand. New Zealand, good-fair grado, .£32; fair, £30; Aug. to Sept.-October shipment: Good-fair, £31 10s; fair, £29 10s. Manila, new graded fair, 37. The output from Manila for tho week was 13,000 bales.
