TROOPS IN TRAINING.

During the remaining months of the present year nearly 12,000 men will require to.be put into training in order-to enable New Zealand to meet the engagements that have been made. This number will include the ordinary reinforcements for the main force, reinforcements for the Trenftham Regiment (the first extra expeditionary force), the new force of 2250 men offered yesterday to the Im-perin-l)authorities, and reinforcements for that body. It is understood that between 3000 and 4000 men are already enrolled and a wan ting the call '/to begin their training. This number will provide tho Bth Reinforcements, due to ,go into camp this month, and leave a surplus available for the other forcas, but it is obvious that recrufting'will require to be stimulated during the next few months ,if the demands of the Defence Department aro to bo met promptly.
