(Received June 4, 10 a.m.) Paris, June 3. The Echo de Paris says a German officer insulted and struck a Turkish officer ou the quay at Smyrna. The Turk drew a revolver and killed his assailant. Thereupon some German officers endeavoured to arrest the Turk. A veritable battle ensued Avith other Turks and officers. Several were killed and others Avounded.

The Vali of Smyrna, who hurried to the scene, had a narroAV escape. Hullcts wero ying in all directions.
