WOUNDED SOLDIERS' CONCERT.
• It was a happy thought that, determined the Philharmonic Orchestra to fix on Thursday next, the King's Birthday, as the date of their concert .in aid of the Wounded Soldiers' Fund, for there-could be no more fitting way of honouring our .gracious Sovereign than by helping to lighten the load of those who are so nobly bearing the flag of King and country at the front. The orchestra forms a well-balanced and tuneful body "of some 15 instruments, and, under the baton of Mr J T. Woodmass, will contribute several attractive selections. The programme will also include several excellent vocal and instrumental items by Miss Reid and Messrs J. Nuttall, A. E. Brown,' and C. Stanley Brown, and it is anticipated that Mr F. Wilkie, of Wangarnii, whoso elocutionary, work is exceptionally clever and amusing, will also appear.
