"Wellington, May 31. With the arrival of the final drafts for the two nuw battalions to-day, the Trentham camp reached its maximum strength of slightly over seven thousand—hy far the largest that has been organised iv Now Zealand for training men for immediate service iv the field. The units at present in camp arc composed oE one infantry brigade (less the headquarters), four battalions, two regiments of mounted rilles, new artillery units, No. 2 stationary hospital, and double drafts of reinforcements for other arms iv the service engaged on the Gallipoh peninsula. This numerical .strength willbo maintained almost wholly for a period of four months, when, with the departure of new battalions, it will fall to something in the neighbourhood (A live thousand, and will continue at that level throughout the war.
