SOCIAL AT MAKINO.
Despite the inclemency of the weather, the attendance at the euchre party ami dance held in the Makino road' schoolroom was large. The gent.'s prize was won by Mr L. Seigel, who generously handed it'over to the club for auction, thereby increasing tho profits by £3 13s. A most enjoyable dance, interspersed by musical items, was opened with a grand marcli and part song by the "Scarlet Runners." Songs were given by Mesdames Cousins, WisTchuowsky, and Baker, Misses BeUingham and Mitchoil, and recitations by little Miss Tremayno and Mr J. Christian. The ■dub will havo about £6 to donate to the funds of the Patriotic Club working iv this district for our wounded soldiers.
