BURNSIDE PRICES.

Dunedin, April 8. At Burnsido yesterday 160 fat cattle wore yarded. Though the entry was small tbe quality was fairly good, and prices were about on a par with last week's rates. Best bullocks made £13 10s to 15 10s, extra to £16 12s 6d, medium to good £11 to £12 10s, others £9 to £10; best cows and heifers £8 10s to £10, extra to £13, others £7 to £8. Fat sheep —1970 penned. Owing to tho Burnsido freezing works being closed till the 10th inst. freezing buyors were not operating, but the yarding was not in excess of requirements, and competition was keen. First quality sheep sold well at a slight adancc on last week's rates, and medium and inferior sorts were practically on a par with late values. Best wethers mado 24s 6d to 26s 6d, extra to 30s Gd, medium 21s to 235, others 18s to 19s 6d, best ewes 22s 6d to 24s 6d.

Dalgety and Co. report: At our monthly sale yesterday wo offered a good catalogue of all classes to a full attendance of buyers. Competition was keen for wool and sheepskins, which sold at prices fully equal to last salo's rates. Hides, however, were very dull of sale, and we were forced to pass in a number of lots. Tallow was in good demand at late rates. Wool. —Crossbred, bright and clean 12d to 14ijd inferior and seedy 9-Jd to j lamb, good lines 12d to 13id, seedy and inferior 7Jd to lOdj dead wool lOd to 11 Jd, pieces aud bellies BJd to 9Jd, cm tellings and pieces 9:[d, locks Gid to 7id, ditto inferior and seedy to 4jd, black wool lOd. Sheepskins.—Full wool, coarse, lOd to IOAd, ditto medium and fine 10' id; hoggets' lOJd; best lamhs' IOJd, seconds Did to 93d, ditto damaged 8d to Bid; crossbred half-wools to threequartei -wools 9d to 9.? d, quarter-wools 7id to Bd, shorts and pelts 6d to 7Jd, baro pelts 3Ad to sd, dead skins 8d to B|d, ditto torn and damaged 5d to 7d; butchers' salted and part dry, at each, full wool crossbred to 13s, best half-wools 5s 3d to 7s 6d, shorts and quarter-wools 3s 4d to 4s 7d, lambs' woolly to 6s Bd, ditto shorn ls 7d to 2s sd.
