ALLIES TAKE THE OFFENSIVE. ENEMY SUFFERS HEAVILY. BRITISH WARSHIPS SUPPORT BELGIANS. - London, April 8. The Amsterdam correspondent of the Morning Post says that the Allies have taken up the offensive on the whole of the Yser region. Heavy ar- „ tillery duels are taking place, and " the Germans are losing heavily. The struggle is particularly fierce near Lombaerdzyde. Belgian infantry, supported by British warships, which are systematically shelling the coast fortifications, are constantly attacking in the Lombaerdayde region. Paris, April 8. Official. —We made an important advance at Les Eparges on Tuesday, night. The Germans on Wednesday made futile counter-attacks, but were mown down by our fire. Aye captured many prisoners at Bois Dailly, repulsing the enemy's counter-attacks.
