Summainry. —Cloudy and unsettled weather has prevailed, and rain has fallen in most parts of the country. The. barometer rose slightly in the south during the night, hut has fallen considerably elsewhere. Strong northerly to westerly winds have ruled in the north, and soulherlies now predominate in the south.
Forecast. —Present indications are for westerly to southerly winds, strong to gale generally, heavy rain probable, especially on the east coast of the South Island and about Cook Strait; snow on the high levels in the south, and colder weather following; the barometer rising everywhere soon.
