ON TO CONSTANTINOPLE!

Turkish Leaders and Troops Re-called to Defend the Capital.

Allies Steadily Forcing the Dardanelles

iiiitary Expedition in Readiness.

Good Reports from Both Fronts.

German Guards Suffer Heavily.

Russians Driving Germans and Austrians

Last night's cablegrams give the British Admiralty's report of the very (-satisfactory progress that is being made by the Anglo-French fleet, plus the addition of <i- .Russian cruiser, in forcing the passage of the Dardanelles, three more forts having fallen to their/guns. There- has been increased activity on the part of the enemy's submarines, but mostly the tide turned against them. The war of attrition continues on the western front, with a decimation at Mesnil of the pride of the Kaiser's army, the Prussian Guards. ■ German and Austrian attacks have again failed on the eastern front against the Russians. Italy is on the vqrge, just waiting for the least little thing to push her right into the conflict. The fall of Constantinople may do' it.

To-day's news is interesting. The ultimate triumph of the allied fleet is so sure that Constantinople is making every preparation, to repel the invaders when the ships and troops reach the capital. From Capetown, where the Union of Africa. Parliament is sitting, comes further explanation of the recent rebellion. The Germans, who went to church the other day to rejoice over victory against the Russians, now admit a retreat from Prasuysz. News comes that the GermanAustralian liner Seydlitz has been interned in tho Argentine. The declaration of Britain to closely blockade Germany as a reprisal for tiie hitters threat to sink all shipping has greatly pleased France. The President of the Turkish Parliament has been talking big about his troops releasing Kgypt shortly from'-the tyranny of the enemy and will drive the British out of Asiatic Turkey. He added that the bombardment of the Dardanelles had been resxiltless. Germany's High Admiral wants an unconquered army and navy, in order to dictate terms of peace. He will get them —from the othersides of the Fatherland! He has a further feeling that the British Admiralty is afraid of German ships. So it is—afraid that German ships won't coino out to fight!
