AUCKLAND STOCK SALES
The N.Z.L. and M.A, Co. report: At the Westfield yards on Wednesday fat cattle came forward in full numbers, and 6old at -improved prices. Best oxen sold at 39s per 1001b, others 35s to 375, cows and heifers 32s to 355; steers sold at from £8 15s to £16 15s; cows and heifers £4 10s to £10 12s 6d, 20 steers from Mr Robert Clark, Karaka, averaged £15 4s, and 20 Bteers from Messrs R. and W. Gollan, Panmure, averaged £14 os. Veal calves came forward in full numbers, and sold at higher rates; heavy vealers £4 to £5, medium do. £3 to £3 18a, lighter £2 5s to £2 18s, smaller 25s to £2 2,5, small and fresh dropped 3s to 20s. Sheep were yarded in full numbers, and met a ready sale at improved prices, from Is to 2s per head. Best wethers sold at from £1 Is to £1 6s 9d, others 18s Gd to £1 0s Gd, owes, extra heavy 19s 3d to £1 Is, others 15s to 18s od, hoggets 13s to 19s 3d., Lambs, in full supply. Best quality sold at from 16s 6d to 18s, others 10s 6d to 15s 3d. Pigs came forward in less number than usual, and sold at improved rates. No baconers yarded. Large porkers £2 5s to £2 15s, porkers £1 10s to £2 3s, slips £1, weaners 10s to 15s. PALMERSTON SALES. MANGAWEKA SALES. Dalgety and Co. report: At our Mangaweka sale on Thursday we had a very fair entry of sheep and cattle. All classes of stock met with a keen competition, and a total clearance was effected at auction at the following prices: Good two-tooth wethers 16s 2d, 16s 9d to 17s; mixed fat sheep 20s 7d; yearling heifers £8; 2-year heifers £3 ss, £3 8s to £4; 2-year steers £4 17s. £4 18s 6d to £o" Is; empty cows £4 10s to £4 17s 6d; light fat cows and heifers £6 6s to £6 12s 6d; 3-year steers to £7 9s; bulls to £8; two prime fat bullocks, sold on account of Mr Donald Munro, realised £15 each.
