CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND OTHER MATTEBS.
The regular monthly meeting of tho Kimbolton Chamber of Commerce was held in the County Council office ok Saturday. A letter of apology for at>senoe was received from tho president, Mr E. Haythorne. The secretary read correspondence dealing with lighting and a fire engine. It was resolved to leave both these matters in abeyanco until next meeting. The secretary (Mr Clarke) was instructed to communicate with Mr 1). H. Guthrie, M.P., asking if.it was intended to officially open the Post Office, which is rapidly nearing completion. A deputation waa appointed to wait on the County Council at its next meeting in tho interests of the Public Library. Great interest in tlie Kimbolton Defence Rifle Club is evidenced by the number of members who attended tlie practice on Saturday, and a full muster is expected next Saturday, which is tho regular practice day, when the first round of the president's (Mr Stackhou.se) trpnhy will be fired. Stock and crops are looking well, and the lambing is reported as being in excess of the average. The dairy men say they have nothing to growl about.
