Last night's cable news bears out the belief that the Allies are crushing the Germans in the North of France with unrelenting persistence. There are evidences of hasty retreat of Germans, but not -sufficient to give decisive results. The Crown Prince is giving proof ef his brutal nature by ordering Ulermonte to be burned, including the almshouses of the Little Sisters of the Poor. Two more steamers have been mined— one Norwegian and one Dutch. The Germans are bombarding Antwerp with heavy siege guns, but the resistance is effective. Cholera has appeared in Eastern Prussia. The Russians are proving too many for the Germans in the South mowing them down in thousands with machine guns. The capture of the Jaroslav forts was due to the heroism of a young Jewish private.
