INTERCESSORY SERVICE.

Every Friday, at 7.30 p.m., an intercessory service is held at St. John's Church. The services will continue until the European War is brought to a close.

A member of the Expeditionary Force writes from Awapuni to Dunedin : Crowds join every - day here, and tho camp is full of these Home chaps. You know the style—as soon as you open your mouth it is made plain to you that, in their estimation, you know absolutely nothing. It always starts something like this: 'When I was in the 242 nd Royal Horse Artillery, or the 2000 th something else.' I am sick of hearing them quack. They are all great riders until they get on a horse, and even when they are putting on the bridle one can judge they have scarcely seen a 'horse before.
