A GHASTLY ROAD.

"It's a ghastly road," sarcastically comulaincd a Councillor at the meeting of the Pohangina County Council, referring to the road mado by the Government some considerable time ago. Tho Engineer stated that the road was between two roads made by them and off it they ■received no rates. It was further stated that the road is at present covered in places with slips and he did not think tho ratepayers of the Umutoi riding would be justified in expending a sum to repair it. It would b e better to get a grant to thoroughly repair the road. It was decided t 0 obtain a grant of £100 to repair the road.
