Auckland, March 9. At the last and clearing wool sale of the season to-day 1836 bales were offered. The greater portion was of moderate and poor quality. Competition was keen, January prices being well maintained and in some cases at a slight .advance. An exceptionally good clearance of all ewes was effected. The following is the range of prices: Fine halfbred Merino lOd to fine crossbreds 10_d, lid;-me. dium crossbreds 9-_d, 10Jd; coarse crossbred 9jd; inferior, Bd, 9d; pieces, 6d, 7d; crutchings, 6id, 7_d; locks, 4d, sd; lambs, superior, lOd.
