ROYAL WEDDING.

A BRILLIANT FUNCTION.

POPULAR SENTIMENT AROUSED

BT BLSOTBIO TEIiUBRAPH —OOPYUI6HI, PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION.

London, October 16. The marriage of an English prince to a Scottish princess (Prince Arthur of Coiinaught to the Duchess of Fife) appealed to the popular sentiment. Crowds lined the routes and cheered the Royal procession to the Chapel Royal. The walls of the latter were decorated with lilies, chrysanthemums and smilax. The congregation at the Chapel Royal was an epitome of distinguished Englishmen and Scotchmen. It was a brilliant display. All were in uniforms and, in addition to Royalties, there were members of the Cabinet, Ambassadors from the European Courts and of Japan and America.

Bonfires were set blazing on the hilltops in north and east Scotland. Great rejoicings were held among the Scottish tenantry.

Times—Sydney Sun Special Cables. London, October 15.

The Prince and Princess of Connaught's wedding cake is six feet high with figures of the bride and bridegroom on the top. The four sides contain portrait panels surrounded by a garland of heather. Lower down are nand-painted silk panels bearing the monograms and coats of arms of the couple. The exterior decoration scheme is comprised of leaves and sitting cupids.
