ADDINGTON STOCK SALE. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. Christchurch, October 1-3. For the -Addington live stock market to-day there wore rather larger yardings of stock, especially of sheep, than was the ease last week, and a good attendance. The demand for beef was not quite so keen, but prices showed little change. Store .sheep were in brisk demand. Eat lambs sold better tlia nlast week, but there was a muck smaller yarding. Fat sheep were weaker towards the end of the sale. Heavy fat pigs were easier, but porkers sold up to last week's high rates. Store cattle: Yearlings, 31s; 15 to 18-moaths sorts, £3 to £3 7s Gd; 2year steers, £4 17s Gd; 2-year heifers. £4 to £5; 3-year steers, £6 lls to £(j 15s; dry cows, £2 10s to £6 7s Gd. Dairy- cows made £3 to £9 15s. Fat pigs: Choppers, £3 10s to £0 13s 6d : heavy baconers £3 10s to £4; lighter', £2 18s to £3 Bs. These prices are equal to Gd to GM per lb. Heavy porkers, 47k to 4.55; lighter. 40s to 455. Those pi-ices are equivalent to '(>sd to 7d per lb. Store pigs, large sorts, 38s to 445; medium, 28s to 3Gs; extra good sorts, up to 21s Gd. AVAIKANAE STOCK SALES. The N.Z.L. and M.A. Co. report: At our AVaikanae sale on Tuesday wo had a fair yarding for the season of the year. Although the sale was not brisk we disposed of most of our entry at satisfactory prices. AYe quote: Light fat ewes iOs, backward dairy cows £4 2s Gd, cows and calves £5, springing cows £5_ 17s Gd to £G; springing heifers £5 lls.
