Present indications are for increasing haze and cloudiness, freshening northerly winds, and a falling barot meter everywhere. Rain probable soon on the West Coast and southern districts of the South Island and more unsettled weather following generally. TO-DAY'S FORECAST. , The Government Meteorologist telegraphed to-day:— . The indications are for westerly winds, strong to gale, and veering by west to south after about twenty-four hours. _ Heavy rain is to be expected with rivers rising shortly. A storm appears to be approaching from the west, chiefly affecting the South Island west coast. Barometer falling but rising after about twenty-four nours. _
