The death is announced of Mr William Parkerson, a colonist of long standing, who came to New Zealand with his father, the late Mr Parkerson, of Christchurch, in the Cornwall, in 1853. After a few years Mr Parkerson began sheep-farming in, the McKenzie Country, and afterwards in North Canterbury. In 1889 he went to the warmer climate of Poverty Bay and for the last thirteen years he resided at Woodville .where he passed away on New Year's Eve, in the 79th year of his age, leaving a widow to mourn his loss.
